Children should always have the right to choose to fast, never forced. Food should never be withheld from children for ANY reason, religious or not. A child should never be shamed or coerced into fasting. Withholding food is abusive. End of story. -Houda

I recently met a Nigerian at an event. We made small talk about places, and I noticed that he loves travelling. Then I asked him how many African countries he has visited. He said none except Nigeria where he was born. Next, I asked about European countries. He mentioned almost all the Schengen states, then continued listing countries in Asia and North America. For a while, my mind wandered from the conversation. Trying to be polite, I kept it going and asked why he hadn't visited any African countries. He searched for an answer and sheepishly replied, "I no go lie, there's no special reason." Africans, we have a big problem.🥹
