With the storm closing in fast, they had no choice but to run for shelter and hope he had hidden somewhere safe. Minutes later, their porch camera sent an alert. When they opened the clip, they froze. Milo was standing on the porch one second, and the next, the tornado’s winds lifted him into the air, carrying him nearly 80 feet above the yard before he disappeared into the gray sky.
“I thought it was over,” Mrs. Whitaker said, admitting she cried through the night. But against all odds, the next morning, Milo strolled back to the front porch dusty, shaken, but alive. “I’m pretty sure he had to trade three or four of his nine lives for that one,” Mr. Whitaker joked.

58岁的Mike是Defenders摩托车俱乐部的成员，看起来凶悍却有一颗柔软的心。 15年来，他每周四都会去儿童医院，为生病的孩子们读故事。
那天，他走进432病房，见到了7岁的Amara。小女孩患有四期神经母细胞瘤，被妈妈遗弃在医院，再也没有人来看她。
Amara抬头看着这个满身纹身的陌生人，声音微弱却坚定地说：“叔叔，你能不能……假装是我的爸爸，直到我离开这个世界？”
Mike没有犹豫，他蹲下来，握住她的小手：“不，我要做你一辈子的爸爸。”
从那天起，整个摩托车俱乐部都成了Amara的大家庭。兄弟们轮流陪伴她，带礼物、讲笑话、陪她祈祷，还特意为她定制了一件小皮背心，上面绣着“爸爸最疼爱的女儿（Daddy’s Girl）”。
18个月后，奇迹发生了——Amara体内的癌细胞全部消失，她健康地走出了医院。
如今，15岁的Amara已经长大。
每到周四，她都会坐在Mike的摩托车后座，和“爸爸”一起回医院，给其他害怕的小朋友读故事。
这个世界上，从来没有真正的陌生人，只有还没找到的家人。
