@eric_lang I turned off his last special partway through when I realized that (A) I hadn’t laughed or even smiled once, and (B) he’s a complete asshole about rape. To paraphrase another famous comedian, it’s OK to do rape jokes, but they better be funny.

And fuck off to "you don't understand the bit" 🙄 Just because he's playing identity politics to gaslight you into believing you can't criticize a black transphobe (spoiler: you CAN) doesn't mean he's playing some genius comedic 4D chess. He's terrible on these issues. Period.

Dave Chappelle is one of the most talented comedians of our time. He's funny as hell. Also? He's a serial transphobe, homophobe and antisemite who'd rather use his talent to "justify" his bigotry than just admit he's doing harm and let it go. Both can be true. Really, truly.
