@ohhevans and like yea this means some people are never experts. it's not a human right. it isn't fair until we actually have something like meritocracy, but unfairness also doesn't mean you get to be an expert bc you feel bad!!

@ohhevans i rly think u have to generate new knowledge to be an expert. a trusted authority on a topic has to be able to make decisions tht create a new way of looking at s/t, or a new method. like it doesn't have to be academic research!! but u need more experience than a BA/S can give

i think bachelor degrees do mean something, but they mean less and less the older you get if you don't continue to use the skills specific to that degree. i still feel like my history BA matters, but i've included modern history in my post-grad studies
