The company is Nous Research, behind an AI agent called Hermes.

Instead of one company's data centers, it runs on a network where people donate their own hardware to train the AI.
Now Robot Ventures and USV are reportedly putting in $75 MILLION at a $1.5 BILLION valuation.
The product is free. The justification is that enough people will pay for the hosted version to justify the price.
