@Magpie24_7 Wow, 2030 take sounds more and more moronic as time goes on😂

👨💼 Newcastle United are looking to make significant changes behind the scenes after a disappointing 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
To prepare for an important summer window, Newcastle have made another off-field appointment today, reported by Newcastle World, to bring Oxford United's head of recruitment, Scott Mitchell, to St James' Park. Mitchell, previously worked in Ipswich Town's academy and led recruitment at Wycombe Wanderers, took over his current role at Oxford in November 2024. During his tenure, he helped the Kassam Stadium outfit recruit value-for-money talent from continental markets, including players like Brian De Keersmaecker, Michal Helik, Stanley Mills, and Will Lankshear. He now heads do Tyneside!
Welcome to Newcastle United and good luck! 🏁

@Magpie24_7 European place? What are you smoking Dan? It's gooood stuff
English

🔥 Dan Burn insists that Newcastle United’s experienced players remain fully committed to the club, proving their value in our crucial 3-1 victory over Brighton at St James’ Park.
The win ended a damaging five-game losing streak and demonstrated that the club's older guard still has a vital role to play, despite widespread speculation regarding a major squad overhaul this summer.
Burn believes the performance answers recent questions about the squad's dedication and desire, showing they still have plenty to offer under manager Eddie Howe. While he acknowledged the need to bring in new players to elevate the squad and help the club reach the next level, he emphasised that the current core wants to be part of that future success.
"It’s only natural that you bring in new players to try to elevate the current squad and push on... But it’s nice to see that the lads here are still showing that they want to be part of that and can keep pushing the new lads on."
Burn stressed the importance of consistency, aiming to build on the Brighton result and finish the campaign strongly rather than continuing the team's up-and-down form.
"If we can get a European place now, then it’s been a sort of successful season. But it’s all talk at the moment - it’s about if we can back that up... If we want to be where we want to be, then we should be picking up results."
A good mix of youth and experience is what's required. As is a good mix of runners, physicality and technical footballers. In my opinion we've not got enough technical players and not enough of a mixture of different profiles in the squad If we can get a strong finish and nick europe it will certainly be the case of wallpapering over the cracks at the midnight hour! Let's hope we do, but it still doesn't get away from the fact that it feels like the end of a cycle with this current group. The defence needs balancing so we've cover everywhere effectively and the average age needs reducing. In the goalkeeping department we need a complete overhaul as it's not fit for purpose and has cost us repeatedly this season. In the midfield we need some variation in it as it's all very similar and in the attack we need more assists and goals in it from open play!
Experience is priceless for sure, but variety is the spice of life! An exciting summer ahead for sure as the squad gets an overhaul ready for a better campaign next time!

@CraigHope_DM Don't know what you're smoking, but it's certainly good stuff. Scapegoating Woltemade wasn't enough, now Hall too? Our 2 most technically gifted players? Brainwashed
English

To extract another gripe from comments... Dan Burn ahead of Lewis Hall
No one is saying it's better long term, but here it was the right pick & that was justified. Burn was MOM
Hall has been, & will be, a magnificent player for NUFC. But recently he's come off it defensively

🚨 Eddie Howe confirms support of PIF after Matfen Hall summit
🗣️ "It was constructive. The owners clearly care so much about the club. There is long-term planning on a number of levels. There are exciting times ahead, regardless of what happens short term. The long-term ambition is there. The desire is to get to the top of the Premier League.
🗣️ "There is no change in terms of the support & infrastructure & how people are working. I’m pleased with the support for me. I’m here, I’m working hard & I’m committed. My motivation levels are high. But I'm under no illusion, I have to get results to keep that unity & trust" #nufc

@Magpie24_7 I don't think he cares that little about us. The club has done him good, ans so has he done to us, maybe it's more like he'd rather go back to Italy, if he leaves

Sandro Tonali has reportedly made a “total U-turn” on his future amid transfer interest from Manchester United and Manchester City, according to journalist Sebastien Vidal
He says Sandro now wants a return to Italy despite the fact no club in Italy can afford his wages and transfer fee! Laughable really.

🚨 According to A Bola -
Newcastle have spoken to the representatives of 3 Portuguese based players over a summer move to the club, those players are.......
Ousmane Diomande (22) - CB at Sporting Lisbon. Fee - €45m
Gabri Veiga (23) - CM/AM at Porto.
Fee - €40m
William Gomes (20) - LW/RW at Porto.
Fee - €45m
Would you be happy with these 3 coming in as part of the rebuild? #NUFC

Newcastle United players have been all been labelled a disgrace from the media coming out from the Bournemouth game
- Anthony Gordon injury has been called out as fake from club legends ❌
- Eddie Howe deliberate 7 second pause when questioned on if players have the same fight as him

English

@CraigHope_DM Let's not let things get toxic and ugly. Eddie does not deserve that and I am truly saddened that he, a manager who has achieved so much for us and loves the toon, has to go though this. It's just time for a change. He'll always be a legend tho

✍️ Here is the good news for Newcastle - there are only five games to play. And here is the bad news - there are still five games to play.

@SkySports_Keith If others teams can do it with less money we should be able to. It's not just PSR, FFP or whatever (now it changed), but also bloody incomletence and ego, we should play it mire like Villa.

🚨 Top players will see #NUFC as a stepping stone — until they’re at the top year on year.
⏳Newcastle aren’t there yet, mainly due to the rules restricting their spending on players.
🔁 It’s a vicious circle that is likely to continue.
💸❓ Eddie Howe admitted himself today that big players could go this summer, as Newcastle rebuild and go again. But will he be there himself?
🤓 In the piece below, I look ahead to what promises to be another busy summer on Tyneside…

🚨 🇮🇹 Sandro Tonali addresses the continued reports linking him with a summer move away from Newcastle:
🗣️ “I don’t look at social media, I don’t like it. After my ban I changed everything with social media, I just go to training and then go home and be with my family. My life is much better now.
🗣️ “In football if you play well you have to deal with the transfer rumours, but if you concentrate 100% on your game, and you’re happy, you don’t have to think about anything or speak about anything.”

Newcastle should rival Man City for Anthony Gordon alternative amid Bayern Munich links | #NUFC

On Woltemade/Wissa... I come back to, "managers don't pick teams, players do". Howe sees far more than any of us in training. He is picking the best team to win a game, of course he is. He referenced Osula training well when asked about Woltemade/Wissa absence - what does that tell you? It's not on Howe to pick them because they cost a lot of money, it's on any player to make himself selectable ahead of rivals in his position. Yes, he signed them last summer (albeit panicked & for inflated fees in final week) but a manager is allowed to change their mind based on what he sees. If Woltemade/Wissa want to play, it's on them.

🚨 According to Sport BILD -
Newcastle are set to miss out on transfer target, 18yo CB Karim Coulibaly.
Newcastle had reportedly been scouting the German starlet all season and saw him is an ideal replacement for Fabian Schar.
PSG have now made direct contact with the player’s camp regarding a transfer in the summer in a €22m deal. #NUFC
This is going to be a long summer ⚫⚪

@NUFCTalkRadio Just release Ramsdale today and if Pope gets injured go with Ruddy.

🚨 Chronicle reporting -
6 Newcastle players are reportedly playing for their futures with 7 games left of the season. #NUFC
Ramsdale (27) - Buy?
Schar (34) - Release?
Willock (26) - Sell?
Osula (22) - Sell?
Wissa (29) - Loan/Sell?
Woltemade (24) - Keep?
Which players would you want to keep for next season?

English

🚨 German outlet Bulinews reporting -
Borussia Dortmund to target Nick Woltemade as potential Serhou Guirassy replacement.
With recent reports suggesting that Serhou Guirassy is targeting a move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer, the Black and Yellows are on the lookout for potential replacements for the forward.
Woltemade has so far insisted that he is not considering a move away from the Premier League side, but the situation could change in the summer depending on how the remainder of the season unfolds. #NUFC
Would you be disappointed if Woltemade left the club?

English

@NUFCTalkRadio Damn, and we'll need to replace him too, how many RB's will we have to sign (if Tino will leave too)
English

🚨According to Lee Ryder -
Emil Krafth is believed to have been told he can leave at the end of the season when his contract runs out.
Krafth, (31yo) has not played for Newcastle United since November and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
He joined us way back in 2019 for around £5m and has been a versatile player, covering at RB and CB. #NUFC
