Armed Forces Remembrance Day Message – H.E. Rotimi Amaechi Today, we pause as a nation to honour the courage, sacrifice, and enduring patriotism of the men and women of our Armed Forces, especially those who paid the ultimate price in defence of Nigeria. Their loyalty was not to comfort, but to duty. Their service was not for applause, but for the survival of our nation. From peacekeeping missions beyond our borders to the difficult battles against insecurity at home, their blood has watered the tree of our freedom. We owe them more than ceremonies. We owe them a country that works, a nation governed with justice, and a future where no Nigerian child grows up trapped in fear. The greatest tribute we can pay our fallen heroes is to build the Nigeria they believed in, united, secure, and fair to all. To our serving officers and soldiers, your courage is not taken for granted. You carry the weight of our collective safety, often in silence, often at great personal cost. The nation stands with you. To the families who bear the quiet pain of loss, we honour your strength. Your sacrifice is written into the soul of our country. May we never forget. May we never grow indifferent.
