Names like Moses Malone, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins, Penny Hardaway, and Donovan Mitchell all came through the Ville. And for UofL fans, this clip hits different… this is where guys like Peyton Siva, T. Jennings and others helped spark the “Kissing the Cardinal” tradition… something that became part of Louisville basketball’s DNA. With NIL and the way high school recruiting has evolved, an event like this is tough to recreate today. The top talent is spread across different circuits, and the landscape has shifted. The Derby Classic itself ended in 2018, signaling the end of an era.
