@anymanfitness There are plenty of ways to be social, interact & find a spouse in a wholesome environment. The church is great place for that. Less drinking doesn’t mean these things are dying, it simply means it’s happening elsewhere.

An unpopular hill I will die on: The drastic downturn in alcohol consumption is a bad thing. Yes, booze isn’t good for you. But this means people are less social, and barely interacting with each other. Millions of healthy marriages were formed from going to the bar and flirting with each other. I know mine was.

Approximately 15% of American protestants attend mega churches— that is classified as a church of over 2000 members. The rest of the 85% of American protestants, actually detest your depiction of evangelical megachurch Christianity… although I think it’s important to note that not every every mega church is like the ones that you detailed above. It would be very disingenuous to say so. With that being said, there are roughly 50,000,000 Catholics in America… while there are roughly 90,000,000 NON-mega church protestants in our nation.
