Students are engaging with their book clubs. They are discussing what problems they were tracking about their character. They are recording their thinking on a story map.
Students are previewing the books in their book bucket. They are working together to choose which book they want to read first for their newly formed book clubs!
Students are reading a background essay about Harriet Tubman. They are using the lead forward strategy of stop, plop, and roll in order to show their comprehension. Later, they will use Kami to mark up the document.
Our 4th and 5th grade legends have started a kindness club. Their second act of kindness is greeting my third grade students and reading to them. Thank you for showing kindness!
Students are working together to accomplish a goal. They are matching mystery vocabulary with the correct definition. Working cooperatively is this week's SEL focus.
One of my friends told me, through tears this morning, that she would be moving to California in two weeks. She made this beautiful arrangement for me as a way to begin saying goodbye. They are so lovely!
