Come join other creative minds to build the next computer. One that understands you, keeps you curious, and fits so naturally you'll forget it's there. It's the sharpest, most eclectic team I've had the pleasure of building with.

@DrOnwude @sesame Thank you! 1-2 weeks. The demo is a fine-tuned version of the base model on the talent's voice that we can't release, but the base model is still extremely capable - you can get a preview of capabilities on the research blog post.

@justLV @sesame Wow, exciting stuff Justin. Definitely agree about less screens and intrigued by the wearable eyewear concept. Keep it up!

Lastly... We can do with less screens in our lives. We’re building comfortable, all-day wearable eyewear, for the most natural way for a personal companion to see, hear and respond. Doing this right is tough, but we’ve made solid strides - I’ll be sharing more on this soon

I “jailbroke” a Google Nest Mini so that you can run your own LLM’s, agents and voice models. Here’s a demo using it to manage all my messages (with help from @onbeeper) 🔊 on, and wait for surprise guest! I thought hard about how to best tackle this and why, see 🧵

@AidanLiyanage @OpenAI @PCBWayOfficial I feel I have to expectation set here - this isn't a product, nor will I be making it one. I've shared this as many were interested in hacking on this further - if you're not comfortable tinkering on software, firmware & electronics but want a product, best to pass on this

Here's one of my modded Google Nest Mini's using @OpenAI function calling to take notes & control 💡 I’m releasing all code & docs to get this exact demo running yourself, including: 💬 Messages 🏡 Home Assistant integration 📝 Note-taking github.com/justLV/onju-vo…

@piit79 @OpenAI @PCBWayOfficial Yep, that's probably the best approach. I didn't have the time to manage a crowd funding campaign for this, but if I did do it pricing would have to be $50-60 each and shipping into EU would not be possible without EMC certification

@justLV @OpenAI @PCBWayOfficial Awesome, thanks! I'll most probably order a batch. If anyone in the EU wants one (or a few) at cost (+ cheap shipping), please let me know - I'd be happy to order more :)

@dgilperez @OpenAI @PCBWayOfficial Yep, unfortunately there's no easy way to let people get single units as cheaply as I'd like. FYI if I'd sell through a site like CS, tariffs. margins & fees would still push the price-point to about $50/60 which is more than a Google Nest mini which is why I hesitated doing it

@justLV @OpenAI @PCBWayOfficial Ok so they just got back with the quotes for 5 items: $146 - $25 PCBs, $30 assembly, $90 components (microphones and bluetooth / wifi chips are ~$45 alone). Just posting for information. It's a bit more than I expected, it seems I will need to make this work and sell the rest XD

@MariuszKulerski @OpenAI No none of that is implemented. They'd all send audio to the server and it would have to decide which one to respond to, so it would be possible (if anyone undertakes it as a project that is!) This isn't a stand-in for existing speakers I'd probably advise you to keep yours ;)

@justLV @OpenAI Looks awesome, congratulations 👏👏 Have you tested how two or more speakers work while installed nearby? We have five in total at home, they choose which one (including phones) should respond and it's working quite good for most of the time.
