the strokes don't really make sense to me. they carry themselves with an ostentatiousness that would only really make sense if they'd made something as unimpeachable as "mr. brightside," while the guys who actually did make "mr. brightside" are polite to a fault

The worst part about julian becoming incredibly thin skinned to criticism in recent years is that it is so antithetical to what the strokes are at their core. Not giving a fuck was sort of a part of their brand and seeing it die is like seeing the strokes die
