This is an insanely shocking take! You must not have been there. Whenever John Obi Mikel was deployed by Jose it meant the game was done and shut down, and it worked every single time. Can’t say the same for Santos or anyone now can we? Mikel provided support, a depth and balance to our midfield that everyone prays we have now which we’re not even close to. The fact he held himself at the same level as Lampard, Essien and Ballack consistently is enough. Don’t disrespect Mikel for the sake of so called “balance” to a conversation.
