@StefanoCoretta Are you using fenced divs in a quarto markdown document? Indentation went totally haywire for me recently. It looks like it will be fixed in the next version of RStudio (there's a few GitHub issues about it if you're interested)

@SidneyGJWong Sometimes, when I look out the lounge window at night, your face appears on the horizon like a rising sun (I can see the top of the electronic billboard on the corner of Linwood Ave and Aldwins Rd).

@Helenreflects I believe in the Sheffield case the council's agreement with the contractor would have been very expensive to cancel (I was a student there at the time). This is not a defense of the council, but might explain their tenacity.

@MCHLinguistics ...is what you are after with the fa function. Let me know if I'm misinterpreting you!
English

@MCHLinguistics As I say, I've not used factor analysis and rotations much myself, but this is what I was imagining you'd get. With PCA, we just use the scores assigned to each speaker for each PC as our new variables. With the base R function prcomp, you get these from $x. Looks like $scores
English

@MCHLinguistics Also: sometimes small loadings are still significant. Maybe the patterning of formal with knowledgable etc and against outgoing etc in PC2 is signal of something to explore? (8/8)

Many thanks to @aGeoffFord amongst others for help with this.

Bonus: here's one of my great-great-grandfathers trying to convince the local branch of the @royalsocietynz (well, the Canterbury Philosophical Society), that he'd found moa prints in North Canterbury. Turns out they were left by a wallaby.
