We have finished up #FindsFriday for this year, many thanks to our fantastic volunteers who processed over 1500 artefacts! Thanks also to DCC and the staff at the Red Stables for hosting us, a fitting place to carry out post excavation work.

Lady Olivia Ardilaun at the time of her marriage in 1871, and how she is portrayed in #HouseofGuinness. Daughter to the 3rd Earl of Bantry, she was married in Cork in the tradition of the bride to be married 'from home', not in Iveagh House as depicted in the show 1/2

We hope you are all enjoying #houseofguinness St. Annes of course was sadly 'unavailable' for filming but we think Broughton Hall in Yorkshire is a good replacement. It's not exact of course but they did a great job adding the Irish Sea and North Bull Island to the background

A huge congratulations to the team at @ABH1550 and to all those who volunteered on the @AnnesParkArch dig this year. So exciting to be able to see the extent of the footprint of the house which was uncovered this year in these fantastic shots!

Today our TY class got a quick course in geology as Aidan, a great community archaeologist and former geography teacher (which helps!) took them through the geological make up of the stone used in St Anne's.
