The man who leads the Senate in prayer is fed up with thoughts and prayers. Today, Senate Chaplain Barry Black's gave an honest and bold rebuke of the common empty sentiment in his opening prayer: "Lord, when babies die at a church school, it is time for us to move beyond thoughts and prayers. Remind our lawmakers of the words of ... Edmund Burke: 'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.'" Chaplain Black’s words were so necessary. We need action. Thank you Chaplain Black for having the courage to speak out. 💙

Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by tornadoes in Mississippi last night. Our partners are working quickly to get support to the area. @ConvoyofHope has loaded up relief supplies to deliver to impacted areas and @RedCross is on the ground providing shelter and meals.
