People have a really bad habit of equating simple storytelling with bad storytelling and that cannot be further from the truth. Saying Avatar's storytelling is "objectively not great" is completely inaccurate. Are the events that take place in the movie easy to follow?

The Avatar films are objectively not great pieces of storytelling, but they are, even aside from being visual masterpieces, pure anthropological catnip, which for those with a taste for it is enough to make the rest pass by.
