My first understanding of politics came at just age 3, when I still recall my Dad being upset that Dewey lost to Truman. Looking back it was a dispute over vote counts. JFK defeated Nixon the same way: the Cook machine in Chicago counted enough headstones to change the real outcome. Recently here in NC, Cooper became Governor as Durham “found” 70,000 “uncounted” ballots at the last moment….. Old goats like me have seen it all, done it all.
