UCD Special Collections is deeply saddened to hear that trailblazing and fierclely brave author Edna O'Brien has died. We had the pleasure of meeting her when she visited us to meet students. We are honoured to hold part of her archive in UCD.

Prolific photographer Evelyn Hofer died OTD in 2009. Her career spanned five decades. Dublin: A Portrait, with text by VS Pritchett, was published in 1967. It included this photo of three gravediggers at Glasnevin Cemetery.
