“Ghana does not seek any financial compensation. Our decision is an act of Pan-African empathy, not a transactional one.” - Foreign Affairs Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa, on Ghana’s agreement to accept West Africans deported from the US. 📺 Watch the Government Accountability Series here: youtube.com/live/H3jSH66js… #CitiNewsroom

Whenever candidates are compelled to pay high filing fees, the EC worsens the financial plight of parties & exposes them to manipulation of financiers—the next generation of corrupt actors. Filing fees has no basis in the constitution for an institution that publicly funded!

Harmonious Choral, one of Ghana’s leading choirs melodiously performed the Bonwire Kente official song. The Bonwire kente song was composed by Dr Ephraim Amu, one of Ghana’s foremost composers, Musicologist and Teacher from Peki in the Volta Region. Acknowledging the origin of Kente cloth from Bonwire, a town in Kwabre province in the Asante Kingdom. The song was composed in the form of a narration, the narration was done in the Akuapem dialect and it talks about an Akuapem student from the Akropong College of Education (the oldest tertiary institution in Ghana), who travelled to Bonwire on a vacation to see and have first-hand information about the Kente cloth. At Bonwire, she was received by an elderly woman she described as Eno and Awo (a name or title used to call the elderly woman in the Akan society) in the narration. Telling her Bonwire mission to Eno and her household, she narrated how she saw a Kente weaver called Opanin Kwame Onimadeɛyɛ (Onim-adeɛ-yɔ) weaving Kente. Just after mentioning Kwame Onimadeɛyɔ’s name, she started singing the kro-hin-kro rhythm (the Kente music chorus) as she was joined by the choir. The beautiful narration goes on and on until she went back to her homeland, Akuapem. According to the narration, before leaving the town of Bonwire, the Kente song has become popular not only in Bonwire. When she went back to her hometown, her people including the chief and elders welcomed her with the Kro-hin-kro song. Isn't the song beautiful? And the narration super? Particularly the touch of the Akuapem dialect. This song by Ephraim Amu is the motivation behind the popular ‘Krohinkro’ song by Kontihene. Currently, Kente is the most exported African Fabric in the entire world. Ayekoo Dr Ephraim Amu. Piawwwwwwwwwww!!!! #kente #bonwirekente #Asante #Ashanti

@GTV_Ghana Why hasn’t he pursued this case in a court of competent jurisdiction? If indeed he has a genuine case then I think the court can force bank of Ghana to release his license. This is a sad story and I hope GN bank or savings and loans come back.

@AnkuPaakwasi @receiptsguy Before we do these comparison we should first read about the mandate of the various supreme courts mentioned. Most of these courts deals with constitutional related cases whilst Ghana's supreme Court deals with constitutional cases n other cases from court of appeals

@receiptsguy Ghana 🇬🇭 Constitution stipulates that the court be made up of the Chief Justice of Ghana and not less than nine other Justices of the Supreme Court. Why do we have 16+ SCJ? Is Nana Addo following the rules in our Constitution?

@chrisatadika UNACCEPTABLE! With the Ghana Card the passport office does not have to process any applications. The information is all there on the card! The huge hike in fees is unjustified unless the proceeds are to replace the E-Levy. 😡😡😡
