It was brought to my attention D2 Lackawanna College is trying to sabotage players’ recruitment by lying to fellow coaches about their current players’ desire to depart from the team. I reached out to Lackawanna for comment and received no response. The Lackawanna OC did watch the private video link where I expressed my concerns, but he never provided justification for these actions and he never addressed the accusation of lying to fellow coaches. Lackawanna has traditionally been a JUCO, but with their transition to D2 they’re doing their best to keep their players from transferring. The young men (3 in total) who attended Lackawanna with the desire to get “up and out”…reached out to me because the current coaching staff is lying to potential teams that want to sign these young men. On multiple occasions Lackawanna coaches have stated that the players have no desire to transfer and intend to transition to D2 with the school. The players have confirmed this is a blatant lie. If you’re in the transfer portal, a 2026 recruit, or a 2027 recruit…I would highly advise you not to consider Lackawanna College.
