#L3VEGroup4@Nature_Rhetoric I love how you guys truly made it feel like a documentary! The background music made it super exciting and dramatic, and your argument flowed so naturally!
@Nature_Rhetoric the fact that the book ended in the wilderness while the beginning of the book took place in the comfort of civilization really shows the character arc of T. and how he views the world.
@Nature_Rhetoric the other group's draft never truly defined what they were arguing. I believe it would benefit their argument if they defined their point and keep referring to it throughout their video essay to convey to the audience how important what they're viewing is.
@Nature_Rhetoric it was so inspiring going to class today and seeing everyone working so hard reviewing and giving other groups feedback even though the professor wasn't there! Truly a Tech thing #WeCanDoThat
@Nature_Rhetoric The group whose script we reviewed today had a very structured, chronological organization to help the viewer follow their argument. My group's draft could benefit from implementing an organization structure like this.
@Nature_Rhetoric The group whose script draft we viewed today had a very detailed and organized script with people assigned to different parts. This is something my group could work on because currently its all just one continuous paper.
@Nature_Rhetoric Viewing the other group's script draft has given my group a lot of great ideas. For example, we know now to introduce our main argument early in the script and keep coming back to it to keep the audience entertained.
@Nature_Rhetoric The group we reviewed today for class had really good ideas for the exposition and introducing their topics! My own group could use some ideas for that in establishing our ethos in giving some background on Zoo Atlanta!
@Nature_Rhetoric I wonder if Fulton is the put in the book only to show the contrast to T. and further his character. It seems that Fulton is the exact opposite of T: loud, brash, and impulsive. Instead, T. chooses carefully the persona he wants people to see and is premediated
At an early age, the only thing he cared for was money and his business pursuits. However, slowly, he starts to become aware of the impact his actions have on the environment around him and think of the bigger picture of the whole ecosystem.
@Nature_Rhetoric At the core of all debates regarding the environment, it always boils down to one topic: economy vs. environment. T. embodies this argument well as he is a real estate developer, but at the same time someone who is well aware of the dangers facing the environment
@Nature_Rhetoric it's important that T.'s mother becomes fixated and disgusted by hair as her brain slowly deteriotes, as it's a link that connects us to the primates that we evolved from. She's again showing the distance humans has put between them and the nature.
@Nature_Rhetoric T. seems to have an existential crisis on almost every page of the book, stepping back and looking at the way mankind treats the animals we evolved with through time, and I honestly I relate so hard.
@Nature_Rhetoric The way that Millet describes zoos as having the "appearance of gardens...but they were mausoleums" is very supportive of the way T. looks at the world in terms of death and expiration dates.
@Nature_Rhetoric The description of the college that T. attends reminds me a lot of the college my oldest sister attended: Wake Forest University. It's in a small town in NC and there are gardens adjacent to the campus that my family would walk in like T.'s mother liked to do!
@Nature_Rhetoric T., who displays an indifferent exterior, is deep down a very sensitive person who wishes to see the best for everyone. This is evident in his interactions with his fraternity brothers and how he takes care of them when they "[partake] too liberally of spirits"
@Nature_Rhetoric It's amazing to see the initiatives cities have made to implement more trees in the urban environment! For example, Milan is creating whole buildings out of trees!!
