Al-Taftazani’s works genuinely aren’t all that. ARK is praised beyond measure because of his cult of personality first and scholarship second since Desis can’t move beyond Hutu vs. Tutsi-ism. Never got the hype around Fodeh either because the scholarship is painfully mid.

Islamic subjects, historically, can be divided into either technical or non-technical.
Technical: Fiqh, Hadith, Aqidah, Usul
Non-Technical: Tafsir, Seerah, Tazkiyah
The latter have started getting technical treatment, but that misses the point to some extent.

Had they only been more lenient in Takfir and Udhr bil Jahl like IT, they would've been a normal Hanbali Emirate.
