
Because that’s how Kenyans speak Kiswahili.
We say, “hio swali yako” or “peleka hio ujinga huko.” We know it should be “swali hilo lako” because the grammatical rule is “nomino+kiashiria” but it doesn’t matter.
But also…why are you grammar policing instead of shaking ass?

Musicians also fail to observe Ngeli whenever they do use Swahili and don’t feel irked by that at all. Why, for example, did We Are Nubia choose to sing “hio swali yako” when “hilo swali lako” wouldn’t have affected the flow. I get pissed whenever the song plays.
