@Gagnon37Mike @ryangerritsen The federal government funds health care to the provinces through the Canada Health ransfer. Currently, it funds about 20-22% of health costs although it funded about 35% costs in the 1970s. The provincial governments administer health care in each of the provinces.

In Canada an 84 year old woman had to wait over an hour for an ambulance after slipping and breaking her hip but at least Ukraine got another $2.5 billion the other day…

Congratulations @MarkJCarney! Unfortunately you’re no improvement on Justin Trudeau and you don’t deserve to be prime minister of Canada. You’re just a disconnected member of the globalist elite, whose main achievement as central banker was to print money and debase our currency, and who wants to continue to fleece Canadians to pay for socialist programs and for your climate change obsession. See you on the campaign trail!

FACT: I’m the only politician in Canada who did not react like a drama queen to Trump’s tariffs, understands economics, and doesn’t want to impose new taxes on Canadians and impoverish them in order to reach an agreement with Trump.

Retaliatory tariffs hurt Canadians far more than Americans. They are nothing more than a tax WE pay on imports into Canada. They drive up inflation and impact low-income Canadians the most. This is not opinion. It is hard, statistical fact. All of our major political leaders know this, but they also know that they poll well when they pretend they are hurting America. @PierrePoilievre wants to differentiate himself from Trudeau and the Liberals by doing even MORE of what Trudeau wants to do? Here is a timeless rule of thumb: Whatever leftists want to do, do the opposite. Trump likes tariffs. He always has. Stopping fentanyl and increasing border security are important of course, but they are also used as a justification for what he would be doing anyway. He wants more production in America. He slaps on tariffs and removes them days later because he knows tariffs hurt American industries. He also knows that the uncertain geopolitical outlook will cause more American companies to build in America, so he keeps the uncertainty going. There is method to the madness. As usual, the only Canadian politician telling the truth about any of this is PPC Leader @MaximeBernier. You might remember him as the man who didn’t want Canadians locked down, and the man who was arrested for going outside in Manitoba while all of our MPs in Ottawa supported lockdowns, travel restrictions, kids not going to school, and vaccine mandates. For this election, Pierre is still the favourite to be the next PM, but he’s blowing an insurmountable lead. He needs to stop being Liberal-Lite. He has potential to be good. But it’s always just potential. He follows polls. He does not lead. He does not educate Canadians and in so doing move the Window of Political Possibilities, aka the Overton Window. Will that ever change? Very doubtful, but it has to change if he’s going to be the next PM. We don’t need more of the usual — Leftists who harm Canada while in power, followed by Conservatives who only conserve the latest destruction.

Poilievre says Trudeau is not going far enough with retaliatory tariffs against America. "We need to keep the counter tariffs in place until the President removes all tariffs forever for Canadians. We can't have half measures. We have to send a clear message to President Trump that if he wants a fight then we will fight back." He then goes on to present Trump with an ultimatum. No wonder the President of the United States doesn't like him.

Ummm hello…. Why is this man not the Prime Minister of this country…. This one “tweet” shows more depth, intelligence and real world experience then Anything I have heard come out of the House of Commons in a decade or two.

Will we finally stop freaking out every time Trump makes a new move? Yes all these confusing moves are unsettling, but that’s precisely why he’s doing it to attain his goals. Despite his claim that “we don’t need Canadian imports,” Trump knows very well that American businesses and consumers need the oil, steel, aluminum, potash, uranium, auto parts, lumber, and many other products we sell them at a good price. And that they will be impacted negatively by tariffs that THEY (and not Canada) will have to pay. That’s why he keeps postponing or adjusting them, while never entirely removing his threats. Although the fentanyl and migrant issues are important, I believe they are only a pretext. Trump wants to bring back investments and manufacturing to the US. He wants to be in a strong position to renegotiate the USMCA. He also knows that the longer term central problem of the US economy is the strong dollar, which makes imports cheap and US exports less competitive. And the massive public debt financed by fiat money creation, again thanks to the strong dollar and its status as the world’s reserve currency. I believe his ultimate goal is to engineer a monetary reset that will see the dollar devalued and gold remonetized. There will be a global deal with Russia and China, which also want to dedollarize and have been accumulating gold. All the geopolitical moves we see now regarding Ukraine for example fit in this plan. Canada is woefully unprepared for all this. We are the only major country with no gold reserves. We are too dependent on the US. We have just spent a decade spending like there is no tomorrow, and taxing and regulating our businesses to the ground. Our economy is not competitive. And our political establishment are all hysterical drama queens who understand nothing of this. It’s time to put adults in charge. Vote for the PPC.

This is exactly right, President Trump is spot on. The tariff issue is now being used by Trudeau and his party to stay in power.

Escalating the trade war with the US is as stupid as escalating the military war with Russia. There is nothing rational in how politicians in Canada are reacting to Trump’s tariffs. Hysteria and self-defeating behaviour are the new default mode of our governments. We’re only going to hurt ourselves even more.

I had a fantastic discussion this morning with @DavidKrayden on how we get out of this tariff war, how the counter-tariff is actually a tax on Canadians, and the PPC vision for Canada. Please give it a like and subscribe to David’s channel! youtube.com/live/kazKii4M0…
