@kaizenhandle He has 10 times the emotional depth of Blackbeard tbh. I think the only antagonist coming close to Imu is Doffy and we got to see his whole life story to get that

#ONEPIECE1179 I think Usopp is wrong about Imu. Imu is probably someone who has always fought alone, who has won his battles alone. Don't forget, he will be the opposite of Joyboy. Just look at the mural. Look at how the World Government is structured. Imu tries to gain his own subordinates through terror/power, but he will never have what Joyboy had: a real alliance, friends, and strong cohesion. And against this alliance, Imu fought "alone" (you can't count the few people at the bottom), against the entire population. Imu tries to do the same with his 20 kings, as well as Gorosei, Holy Knights, and CD. Building up his own "Alliance". But ultimately, he still comes out alone.
