Today, we formally notified the entities that we will be stepping down from our duties as a member of the Pentad. We want to thank the members for their shared commitment to Cardano throughout our time working alongside them. Our immediate priority is the @secondfiapp recovery process, and we are concentrating our resources where they are needed most. We believe this is the right decision for our users and for the ecosystem, and it reflects the standard of accountability we hold ourselves to as a founding entity of Cardano. As stated by SecondFi, quarantine mode is being enabled this week, letting users check if a wallet address appears in preliminary incident data and submit a support ticket. Our intention is that next week, the secure wallet export will be deployed to help affected users safely move assets to a new wallet. On asset recovery, we continue to make progress with the recovery tool, initiated through a portal, that keeps users in control while protecting their information

@secondfiapp please help us get assets recovered to us who had their wallets drained, I submitted tickets for the roughly 48000 ada that was redirected out of my wallet, I'm in dire need of that ada to live I wanted to start a family and move to utahal i have are my staking rewrds untouched🩵

If you are not technically proficient, we recommend waiting for the secure wallet export functionality, which is currently intended to launch next week. It is currently expected to involve a recovery tool using zero-knowledge proofs, initiated by users through a portal, designed to help users remain in control of the process while protecting their information. @emurgo_io @secondfiapp i remain hopeful the recovery process works, i pray we can be reimbursed for our loss id do anything to get that ada back. please and thank you for working on it.

SecondFi will not resume normal operations, even once the audits are complete. Going forward, our involvement in @secondfiapp is limited to a dedicated asset recovery team, tasked solely with returning assets to affected users. This is where our full focus and resources are directed.

@Alexkoerner_ i dont and i dont need a hardware wallet because the problem was with signing a transaction on secondfi, i will take my ada back through eternl, i filed claims for the addresses affected and i need that ada back on those addresses.

@nateacton @secondfiapp i still have eternl thats how i saw my wallets were drained and i need my ada back to those addresses, i worked so hard firefighting and saving for years to get ada and i need it back badly. you can send it back to my addys and there wont be a problem with another app aka eternl.

@nateacton @secondfiapp do not toy with us and get the assets back to the affected wallets that we filed claims on. this is NOT a joke, this is people's life work and savings, you don't want to be responsible for suicides that is very bad kharma.

@emurgo_io thank you for the update, I have been severely affected as my whole livelihood was in ada. please help do what you can when you can. I have followed all instructions thus far. my empty wallets remain untouched

The asset recovery wallet checker is now live: checker.secondfi.io This is the only official checker, hosted on our secondfi.io domain and shared only through @secondfiapp / @secondfi_jp. It is prepared on a best-efforts basis. It will never ask you to sign a transaction. Any tool that does is a scam. This is phase one. In phase two, the checker will show whether your wallet has been affected, alongside an air-gapped transfer option to move assets securely. I am not affected, what are my options? If you wish to migrate, we recommend moving your assets to a newly created wallet using a hardware wallet only. We will release clear, step-by-step migration instructions to guide you through this. If @secondfiapp @emurgo_io doesnt reimburse every single token stolen.. not only is emurgo cooked but @Cardano is cooked aswell. No one will have a shred of faith or trust in cardano or its ecosystem. I hope a frenzy of activity is happening behind the scenes right now. $ADA.

Not your keys, not your...wait 😳 Self-custody just cost hundreds of Cardano users 16 million $ADA 😬 The wallet software itself was the backdoor oddly enough too @secondfiapp formerly Yoroi had a critical vulnerability in its native web wallet generation code Every single wallet it created was compromised! Blink Labs developer warning: "the wallets generated are all unsafe." Switch immediately SecondFi's response? Maintenance mode Paused front-end And this gem: "taken extraordinary steps to protect remaining assets where possible."
