I've lived in south Birmingham for almost 20 years. What's the story with this place? I've never seen anyone in there. Ever. How does it survive? (Siam, Kings Heath)

Incredibly tough day for my friends at Asian Network News. The BBC are axing their entire team. A group of brilliant journalists who tell the stories of British Asians & give them a voice on matters that affect them. Nowhere in the BBC does that. Devastated doesn’t cover it.

Following the riots, the government should be standing up — unequivocally — to the far right. Shamefully, they are taking lessons from them instead. Our common humanity offers a different lesson: refugees who have fled violence should be treated with compassion & respect.

Ecstatic that Marieha was found not guilty but I left the court fuming 😡 To quote Malcolm the #coconuttrial was a 'circus, with clowns and all', Exhibit A for the #PsychosisOfWhiteness We have to keep the pressure up and resist the policing of our thought

"I'm mad ... this (coconut placard) trial was a circus, clowns and all, it never should have happened!" Leading black professor Kehinde Andrews slams the Marieha Hussain coconut trail as a waste of resources and explains how the "struggling" prosecution couldn't find experts to back their stance after Andrews and others rejected their approaches. @kehinde_andrews | @bob_cart124
