I say this with all due respect. As a college basketball fan, I had a much better time watching Wichita State and Wyoming go down to the wire in the NIT tonight than I am watching Texas and NC State in the First Four. Real fans appreciate mid-major hoops.

6 Mountain West teams are slated to play postseason basketball. Utah State was the league's lone NCAA Tournament bid, while New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado State, UNLV and Wyoming will compete in the NIT. While other programs left out of the NCAA Tournament opted out of the NIT to focus on offseason recruiting, Wyoming players collectively jumped with excitement following their selection to the postseason. For the first time since making the NCAA Tournament in 2022, Wyoming will play beyond the first round of its conference tournament. The Cowboys were selected to the NIT on Sunday and will square off against Wichita State in the first round Tuesday night. It's Wyoming's first NIT appearance since 2003.
