🚨 Aggressive "Mom Style" Reminder 🚨 📢 Don't be this person. 💌 People have lives (family, jobs, household responsibilites, dependents, other friends, health issues, etc.) that have to take priority for varying reasons. Just because they didn't text you for a bit doesn't mean they stopped wanting to be friends. And it doesn't erase any effort they previously put in to hanging out, chatting, getting to know you, etc. ❌ If you unfriend everyone who gets busy or distracted, you're going to be very lonely in life. You will be your own island and have only yourself to blame. And the comment section has been vocal in saying so, too. 💬 Also, you can use your own damn words like, idk, an adult? You typed a lot here; it would have been faster to just ask the person: "Hey, I haven't heard from you lately, are you just busy?" or even ask for reassurance like "I hope we are still friends, right?" Most people will not get upset about being asked for reassurance or a check-in! 🙃 Honestly, though, you did them a favor; they don't need a shit friend who doesn't value or respect their time and energy. ❤️‍🩹 I don't even know who they're dragging here, but I hope that person will be okay. Their friends are defending them in the comments, thankfully, so I think they have strong support from REAL friends with actual empathy. 💐 I don't usually get worked up like this, but I've been on the short end of this mentality too many times -- whereas I give everyone the grace and patience of understanding life gets busy, and sometimes life sucks and they need space. Nobody owes me an explanation of why they needed space, either; it's just a nice courtesy if they do decide to update me. ✨ So, if you read this far, to all my friends -- whether local or online, besties or new acquaintances, collab partners or confidants -- please know that you are valued here.
