I used to be a big fan of a Japanese rock band called Dir en Grey and my fave member who I cosplayed often was the guitarist Kaoru and I would RP as him with my friends so I made my username Kaojen on AIM 💀

I’ve been so lucky in the friendships I’ve made in this fandom but some people are not so lucky. It’s really disappointing tbh. I think the key is to have close friendships with other fans that have similar interests beyond the fandom.

the amount of fake people and fake friendships for the sake of popularity and visibility in this fandom right now actually disgusts me... like holy shit everything's so transactional and fake. it's exhausting to even witness

We used to have notebooks in middle and high school that we’d have for a bit, write messages in them then give them to our friends and we’d communicate fun stuff and stories to each other that way haha
