As we welcomed our global community to Cambridge for the annual Innovation in Global Growth Markets: Prosperity Through Entrepreneurship Conference, the day started with excitement about what’s to come next as we unveiled our new name:
The MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship.
Our new name is not just a rebranding. It’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to our values and to our ever-growing community. And we are dedicated to bringing this global community together and being part of our mission to define The New Calculus for Global Prosperity.

Thanks to the commitment and generous gift from Sayuri Sharper, SB ’81, SM ’82, and Craig Sharper, SM ’80, to the Center—this new milestone reflects an expanded vision—positioning the center as a home for advancing entrepreneurship as a pathway to deeper economic agency and prosperity in global growth markets.
With the backing of the Kuo Sharper family, the center will accelerate its efforts to support more entrepreneurs, strengthen innovation ecosystems—positioning growth markets as engines of opportunity, dynamism, and abundance.

Introduced by Dina H. Sherif our Executive Director at The MIT Kuo Sharper Center, we welcomed on stage Dr. Georgia Perakis, John C Head III Dean (Interim), MIT Sloan School of Management, and Professor Dame Fiona Murray, Associate Dean of Innovation at the MIT School of Management and Faculty Director of MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship, who reflected on the center’s evolving role.
