It’s been a busy start to the year, with lots of new activity on satsearch. As buyer traffic continues to grow, we continue to also grow our supplier network. Accordingly, we’d like to take a moment to properly welcome recent new members to the satsearch membership program.

The Voyager 1 spacecraft celebrates 48 years in space today! After visiting Jupiter and Saturn, Voyager 1 became the most distant human-made object on Feb 17, 1998. It is now more than 15.6 billion miles from the Sun, zooming through interstellar space. go.nasa.gov/465yRCZ

Can you offer an IOD mission to a willing buyer? A qualified satsearch buyer is looking for IOD mission provider so they can test a new propulsion system. This is a great opportunity for any supplier capable of facilitating a IOD/IOV or hosted payload mission.

@ashwinl From what I remember, @GeoPhy developed this as part of their platform, although I don't know if they're actually offering building geolocation as a service to customers.

ASK: Any friends in my {space/GIS/data infra/computer vision} startup network can help? Have an enterprise multi-national ($30B+ market cap) decision maker (buyer with $$$ budget) looking to geolocate buildings using imagery (satellite, plane, balloon etc.) in large cities. Current market offerings are not scalable. Any startups you know of? DM for more detail. "Getting images is easy. Being able to store and process is challenging at scale. Cloud providers are curiously not that ready" cc: @karkum84 @AstroLawyer @karantalati @migtissera @llcrabbie @bradneuberg @vikasreddy @abemurray @naywilliams @jaimalik @reneeshah123 @AdamPorterPrice @JeffCrusey @Sam__Cash

Excellent news for the space science community!
ESA Science@esascience

📢 @ESA adopts two ambitious space science missions: Venus voyager #EnVision and gravitational wave surfer #LISA. “These trailblazing missions will take us to the next level in two extraordinarily exciting areas of space science and keep European researchers at the forefront of these domains,” says ESA Director of Science @CGMundell The ‘adoption’ step recognises that the missions' concept and technology are sufficiently advanced, and gives the go-ahead to build the instruments and spacecraft. Both spacecraft are planned to launch with an #Ariane6

10 years ago today, NanoAvionics didn't yet exist. But a passionate group of engineers and researchers launched the first Lithuanian satellite, LituanicaSAT-1, which months later became the foundation of NanoAvionics. Little did we know what snowball effect this palm-sized satellite weighing a mere kilogram would initiate: In a little under a decade, that small team from a university research lab grew into an international company that's launched more nanosatellites in the past 5 years than any other external satellite manufacturer in Europe or the United States, produces satellites two orders of magnitude larger than LituanicaSAT-1, and is part of a global technological powerhouse with over 200 years of industrial experience - KONGSBERG. None of this would have been possible without the trust of our customers, supporters, and mentors along the way, which we are extremely grateful for. As much as it is a nice day for us to look back at, we hope it acts as motivation for anyone looking at their lofty dreams, however far-fetched they may seem at the moment. We hope your snowball gets rolling and you enjoy it one spin at a time. P.S. That is the first image captured by LituanicaSAT-1 in orbit. Those, too, have come a long way. The ISS deployment image is courtesy of NASA.
