#WATCH | Jammu and Kashmir: At the historic Martand Sun Temple in Anantnag, Kashmir, devotees gathered to offer prayers. The traditional sacred fair currently underway in Mattan is popularly known as the Baan Mass Mela (Banmas). It is being observed during Purushottam Maas (Adhik Maas), a highly auspicious month in the Hindu lunar calendar dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This sacred month in 2026 runs from May 17 to June 15.

El Al employees at a German airport asked if I was afraid to walk around in this t-shirt. Nope. And the star never comes off. When someone stares, I stare back. Bullies are like bloodhounds — they smell fear. Ask yourself: why do people wear kaffiyehs without any fear of being attacked? The answer captures the entire essence of the Arab-Israeli conflict — and the Jew hatred that has spread like wildfire since October 7th. One side is entitled, propped up by endless global sympathy, free to throw emotional tantrums without consequence. The other has always faced global hostility — and is perpetually expected to show restraint, shrink itself, go invisible, so as not to “provoke” those who are always one moment away from their next tantrum. #Israel #palestine

We should have no business meddling in Dalai Lama’s succession ! None of our business anyway

The biggest disclosure from tieken’s book is not the book itself, but that the strongest evaluations and critiques came from people like george Hart and eva wilden, whereas the Tamil intelligentsia were still busy organizing devaneya pavanar etymological conferences .There is endless yapping about Tamil, but tamils themselves either do not value serious scholarship or are barely interested in it. This was not the case a hundred years ago , something has died and no one cares

I was listening to Illayaraja songs on my drive today and I realized a few things about Illayaraja and his music and why he probably is one of the greatest music directors of all time 1. The songs stay in your sub conscious memory even if you have listned to the song once, And if someone even mentions that song in passing, you remember the movie, the setting, the context, the tune everything, even if the movie had released before you were born. OTOH you don't remember any of the songs made by Anirudh and other latest music directors 2. You will never tire of Illayaraja's songs. You can listen to them on the loop, and they still sound as amazing as they did when you listened for the first time. You never get tired of them With today's song, as pulsating as they may be while you listen to them, you want to move on from them as quickly as possible. 3. Illayaraja ensured lyrics of a song got its due respect and position in the song. Which in turn inspired lyricists to give their best. They wrote songs with great depth and meaning, which were then elevated thru his music. Thereforr most Illayaraja songs made you think and introspect Today, lyrics are meant to be a background buzz, meant to be drowned by a cacophony of electronic noise and beats. So they lyricists have nowadays stopped trying. I mean what's the point of writing good lyrics, when all people care about are the beats. 4. Illayaraja never lost consistency. He was as good in 1976 as he was in 2016. He never lost his musical acumen and never sounded repetitive. Is there any music director who gave a diverse album like Hey Ram 24 years into his career? You already can't distinguish a Beast From a Vikram from a Jawaan of Ani in the 14th year of his career. Truly Illayaraja is a maestro who was probably sent by God to make music so that plebians like us got some peace and happiness.

When questions about Tamil identity come up, Brahmins often cite Parithimar Kalaignar (Suryanarayana Sastri) as proof of Brahmin love for the Tamil language. But how many Brahmins actually followed his example, by Tamilizing their own names or giving their children Tamil names?

Chhatrapati Shivaji was never anti Muslim, didn't fight against Islam. His grandfather and G-grandfather, all served as military leaders under Muslims Sultanate. His G-grandmother was follower of Sufi Shah ji and named her son after him—Shah ji. His 4 granddaughters married to Ms

It's important to be both culturally hindu as well as politically hindu. For example Tamils and Malayalis are culturally more Hindu than the rest of Hindus. Hindus from Gujarat or Bihar are more political Hindus than the south. But Bengal(and oddisa) Hindus are both culturally and politically Hindus. Near future, Tamils and Malayalis will join along with Bengalis.

I’m genuinely not trying to insult anyone here, but I find it so fascinating that monotheists describe polytheists as immoral for worshipping false, "man-made gods" when we are the ones who encoded reverence for the Divine in all its manifestations (the sun, the moon, the earth, the oceans, etc.) and they are the ones who follow the word of a human prophet who told them who the one true god is. Also, we don’t go around telling them their beliefs are false or sit around talking about it, either. We just do us.

Hilarious to see Dumeels claim (against all historical evidence) that Arumuga Navalar, a man who studied the Vedas and Agamas and preached them, didnt know Sanskrit
