Today I uploaded a video related to the legality of selling Minecraft server software. The truth is, the matter is way more complex than it seems. Everything related to Minecraft modding lives in such a grey area and relies on so many loopholes, that without going over all applicable legal documents and consulting a lawyer, it's almost impossible to get an accurate video on these topics. As to not spread miss information in the community, I have decided to take the video offline. Even though there was a disclaimer, that I am NOT a legal expert. I think it would be better to stay away from covering legal documents (like EULA's, ToS's and Licenses) going forward. While it may sometimes seem clear as day, especially if you see something in an EULA or License like: "You are allowed to sell" or "You have right to the source code", there is so much nuance in place, that drawing a conclusion from that alone, is impossible. For the few that saw the video, GG (your among the lucky few). There won't be an updated version and much of the video was incorrect.

@KasaiSora Regarding the data breach thingy, YES! YES that‘s a huge issue here!!

I'm all for a safer platform. But requiring most users to submit their ID, right after they suffered a data breach back in October last year... don't know about that Discord. Hopefully in practice, it's not as bad as it sounds. Otherwise I feel like many will start looking for alternatives.

@ItsCodeline @discord In the UK it's mendatory, not yet in the rest of the world. And I am all for making the internet safer, I just don't want to give my personal info to a company that lost it just a few months ago

@KasaiSora Honestly not sure on how much @discord can actually influence that decission (I mean the company) at least on some regional scale. Wasn‘t it initially introduced cause of legal reasons? Also: generally it‘s not bad to try to make the internet more safe. It‘s just about the how…
