Minecraft Marketplace takes 70% and 50% cut and nobody complained about that for some reason? Epic doesn't take a cut to look better than Steam to devs

As an indie, I don’t agree. You put your game on Steam because that’s where the buyers are. Valve doesn’t give a shit about devs. They take 30% of what you make and, as a dev, you get nothing in return. Just an algorithm you have to fight against. The backend sucks, it really sucks. You get zero help with marketing. I mean tools for data analysis, A B testing, or any kind of insight that helps you improve your game. We can’t even see real time data. You have to wait 24 to 48 hours just to get minimal info. As a player, sure, I like that their launcher is lighter compared to Epic. That’s about it. The problem is that players want everything. They don’t want game prices to go up, they don’t want devs to cut costs using AI, but they keep supporting a company that refuses to lower that 30% cut for indies. 🤷

Lol 😂 As indie, I gladly give Valve 30% cut. They’re supporting open source: Linux, Proton, Fex-Emu, etc. Valve is keeping tech free and markets accessible for all. They’re prob the only one that still care abt gaming, the gamers & devs. not greed. It’s long term thinking
