As a disability rights advocate and a plague nerd, I am begging you to remember that there are many polio survivors still living, that they led the first wave of the modern disability rights movement, and you should TALK TO THEM.

I’m seeing one patient per ER shift with new symptoms of #longcovid #POTS #MECFS; many have lost their businesses, their brain, their health, their dreams. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. We need a plan to prevent and treat #LongCovid @PublicHealthON

All schools, colleges and universities should be monitoring air quality and reporting the results transparently to their students and employees. We need to have clean air to study and to work.

The libraries of @UnivParisSaclay have set up a CO2 monitor lending program. Ten CO2 monitors are now available and all were loaned out in the first week. This is a very first step. The initiative was inspired by the Community Access to Ventilation Information program - @CAVI_CO2

We need to stop the all-or-nothing approach to public health. Wearing a mask sometimes is better than never wearing a mask. Some people wearing a mask is better than no one wearing a mask. Wearing any kind of mask is better than not wearing a mask at all. Every bit matters.

Law suits can't repair the violence, but some accountability would be...not "nice," but it would be something. And maybe force the city to change tactics going forward.

I should also add - the legal action is also important and should happen here too. The City of Toronto has blood on its hands for the way it has chosen to address encampments, the housing crisis, and the drug poisoning crisis.

I am queer. I am trans. I am also homeless. Why was my supposed community protesting outside of the resources and spaces that help me on Saturday?

@Diana_C_McNally To my reps, @MarciIen @kristynwongtam @ChrisMoiseTO, with respect, this is an emergency, it is a crisis, and every second that it is allowed to continue is an indictment of our community and its leadership. What is being done RIGHT NOW to stop this?

I want you to listen. These are the stories of African asylum seekers who are being forced to encamp outside 129 Peter St. while all levels of government argue over jurisdiction for their care. Momodou, Chamsah, and Asuman speak to the conditions: cbc.ca/listen/live-ra…

In a logical world, the @TorontoOEM's Encampment Office — whose funding was expanded this year — would be redirected from removing #encampments in public parks to providing actual emergency aid to the refugee encampment outside of 129 Peter Street.

"Are you going to wear a mask forever?" Am I going to use seatbelts forever? Am I going to have mammograms and Pap tests forever? Am I going to floss my teeth forever? Am I going to eat my vegetables forever? Masks aren't a hardship. 1/4

Unpopular Truth: If we didn't subject people to poverty and homelessness for years, even decades at a time, the need for supportive housing would be overwhelmingly reduced.

Apropos of nothing, one of the first things Nazi Germany did was wipe out the world’s first transgender clinic. This came at the same time at the T-4 program and served as a rough draft for extermination of Jews. My friend @bschillace wrote about this scientificamerican.com/article/the-fo…
