At it’s core, # FreedomConvoy is actually a # MAGA rally, isn’t it?

It angers me to think about everything people, who did the right things—like getting vaccinated—had to do last fall after the foolish “open for summer plan”. Protecting each other, the stress, the anxiety—then to watch our leaders repeat the same damn mistakes. We deserve better.

Friends who is a nurse tells me that they are instructed to change their masks every 3 hours. I should have 2 masks per day then...received 20 from #abed...non-N95. I'm not sure what we are supposed to do after 10 days. #ATA #gpcsd #education

Once again, the Premier and Minister of Health failed to prioritize vaccinations for staff working in schools. Thousands of students and staff working online due to the high cases and no recognition or extra support or measures announced today.

I don’t trust any non-teacher who is releasing a book about teaching in the pandemic.

23% and we're still operational!? I hope that all kids remember how they were treated during this pandemic under such a brutal gov't - this gives me massive hope for the future.

There are active alerts/outbreaks in 567 schools which represents 23% of all schools in AB. I would like to remind all Albertans that it is important that we continue to follow all public health measures inside & outside the classroom. (2/8)

A running total of 13 different school boards have REFUSED to pilot Premier Kenney's curriculum. They represent HALF the entire student population. Public and Catholic. Urban and rural. North and south. That is not “widespread support”. It is an unprecedented REJECTION. #abed

NOT TRUE. We have NO IDEA who wrote this draft, NO IDEA what sources were used (aside from Wikipedia - PLAGIARISM!), and the Minister’s insistence that people need to pilot it in order to give feedback is like making someone drink expired milk before returning it. BE BETTER.
Nate Glubish@nateglubish

The consultation process on the new curriculum has been the most open, transparent, and extensive of any previous. This included hundreds of teachers (including over 100 in the curriculum working groups), subject matter experts, advisors, and First Nations groups. 1/

The Residential school system is well known to have existed well into 1990s with the last federally funded school closing in SK in 1996. Schools also opened before 1884. For the Alberta Government to claim only up until 1970s is a complete insult and disregard to those survivors

Worth repeating: “It's pretty clear that whoever wrote the curriculum had no idea what they were doing.” #abed

A stunning representation of the highly contentious changes being made by Jason Kenney to the K-6 curriculum. These word clouds show the change in focus in Grade 2 Social Studies (the top one is what it is, the bottom is what it's going to. What do you think? #ableg #abed

Developing a curriculum without feedback from the teaching profession could set Alberta’s students up for failure. We’re asking teachers to provide feedback on the proposed curriculum. Read the curriculum documents & tell us what you think: loom.ly/7kzH2pk #abed #ableg
