The owner of the Old Montreal building that was the scene of a deadly fire in 2023 has been arrested and is facing charges of manslaughter and criminal negligence in connection with the deaths, Montreal police announced Wednesday. Emile Benamor was arrested Wednesday morning and is expected to appear in court this afternoon.
