@nygiantsontop @elitetakes_ We have a great one---but last season he had severe back problems and couldn't practice for 3 months---now he is a year older--so who knows what awaits us
English

@katerdid2 @elitetakes_ They have a good one though, and they are clearly capable of winning it all. Could get an instant plug and play player at 13. Instead they have an backup for Stafford’s next couple years
English

No one has a problem with the Rams drafting a QB. We have a problem with the QB they deemed worthy of the #13 pick
Dan Orlovsky@danorlovsky7
The idea that the Rams should have punted on a future QB they love in the name of a “win-now” WR is shortsighted and foolish. No rookie can be expected to swing his team’s championship probability that much.
English

@AllenSales Florio, what a moronic take. Matthew's going to have a hissy fit and quit because they picked Ty @ 13?
English

@gmavris @Jimeverett I don't think Shanahan wants to help McVay get a great new receiver, and play him 2x a year.
English

@Jimeverett Rams are definitely making a move to add a vet. I'm thinking Jennings from SF. Already steeped in McVay's system having learned under McVay's mentor. Plus doesn't cost draft picks.
English

@nygiantsontop @elitetakes_ Why wouldn't you take the most important type of player @ 13? You can get a great WR or OT in the 2nd round---but you need a QB from the 1st if you want a good one.
English

@elitetakes_ No, I have a problem with them taking a QB at 13. Should be trying to build for one more go with stafford.
English

@elitetakes_ People are underestimating Simpson's upside. There's a reason that Les and Sean went to these lengths specifically for Ty. It will eventually be clear but people are still clamouring for Lemon. It will all make sense at some point.
English

@BGMediaOnSI Lemon is fantastic--but wouldn't be a good fit for our WR room this year. Puka just coming out of rehab-- needs a calm stable environment. Lemon would be like a smoke bomb, imo.
English

“Rams inability to make plays against Witherspoon.”
Puka + Adams vs. Witherspoon in NFCCG: 4 receptions on 5 targets for 123 yards.
The inability to trust their DBs in coverage was a huge reason they lost…and they addressed that with McDuffie and Watson.
Matt Miller@nfldraftscout
I don’t know guys. Rams inability to make plays against Witherspoon was a huge reason they lost last year. AND Adams is 33 years old. I get the argument that they don’t intend to be drafting early enough for a good QB in the next two years. I do. But I would have gone Lemon here.
English

@DBGuys @BGMediaOnSI It is a great plan. He will either be 25, 26 or 27 when he becomes the starter---depending upon Matthew's back. When he does finally start, he will be fully ready to go full throttle. We will never have a good first round pick in next few years so this was our best bet.
English

@BGMediaOnSI Ya let's draft a Quarterback who turns 24 this season and put him on the bench for another 3 this sounds like a great plan 😆
English

@RM3_SpOrts @NFLFrascella @RamsNFL That's not true. They did a lot of homework. He's not going to tell everyone they want TY Simpson----he acted like he wasn't interested on purpose.
English

@NFLFrascella They are not use to have a first round draft pick. The @RamsNFL method of picking... Who needs research...We will go with this guy...
GIF
English

@SkolGjallarhorn @NFLFrascella I don't think that is why Sean acted somber. He wanted to respect Matthew. It would look horrible if Sean celebrated getting a new QB right now.
English

@NFLFrascella Watching some of the clips from last night, I’d lean towards McVay was not fully onboard with the pick.
English

@katerdid2 @StuJRams WTF are you talking about? I love the Rams (season seats)but that doesn’t mean I can’t question them. Ram fans know the window to the championship is now. Devante missed multiple games last year and Puka is having “issues” now. A playmaker was there at 13 and we passed
English

@UnholySpire @thealexiskraft Yes, because they didn't have a great roster. We do.
English

@Everythinghy4h @JKBOGEN Ok, so go find a new team that thinks the way you do. If you seriously believe that Les and Sean are stupid and don't know how to build their roster, then move on. Don't waste your time with the Ramily.
English

@katerdid2 @JKBOGEN Rams can kill the rest of this draft and this pick will still suck ass.
English

It's not even about Ty Simpson. It's about the fact the #Rams didn't get better in 2026. I don't care who you take, this fanbase is not going to love that notion in a season where they are the Super Bowl favorites. If they fall short, this will always be the thing that is brought up. You could have added a difference-maker early in the draft to help win a Super Bowl instead you took a guy we won't see for 3 years. I have no issue with people being upset just like I have no issue with anyone who likes the pick. Let people feel how they want to feel.
English

@dddaaannniel @bkeister34 @thealexiskraft And if Matthew has back issues and doesn't play a full season, then the 13th pick would have been wasted if it was used on another weapon for him instead of used trying to get a good QB to step in for him.
English

@katerdid2 @bkeister34 @thealexiskraft Next two years or so. What if Stafford only plays one year? Or what if he doesn’t make it a full season because of his back issues? There’s no guarantee Simpson gets to sit for two season. More times than not, that’s just not how the nfl works
English

okay, so here’s my honest thoughts on the rams picking ty simpson at #13…. and keep in mind, my thoughts are subject to change, but this is my immediate feelings…. and this has nothing to do with the kid himself. don’t be a weirdo and make things personal.
the rams are the super bowl favorite… they were *thiiiiiisssss* close to going to the super bowl last year. they SHOULD HAVE been in the super bowl last year. then… matthew stafford wins NFL MVP and announces he’s coming back for next season… vibes are high. your stellar football team is, for the most part, back together. sean mcvay signs an extension. we’re crushing it. and the super bowl is being held in LA in 2027? it’s written in the stars!
you then address your biggest glaring weakness in free agency - cornerback. you trade for a top 5 corner in the league in trent mcduffie and make him the highest paid cornerback ever. you sign jaylen watson. you announce davante adams is coming back.
you go into the draft with some glaring needs - a trustworthy WR3, a potential starting OT / OT depth, maybe a linebacker, maybe even a guy who can compete for CB3 and provide critical secondary depth after you lose 3 of your corners in the offseason. it’s important to take a player in the first round who will round out your team and contribute to a super bowl run…. and instead, you take a QB who won’t play this year and maybe even the year after. and not only that, it’s a QB who many had graded as a day 2…. maybe even early day 3 guy?
why are you taking someone who isn’t providing you with a weapon to propel yourself to the super bowl this year? it feels arrogant to just assume no help is needed. i mean… really?
sorry but i don’t see the value here at all, whatsoever. maybe it’s the rams “guy” but by the looks of it…. it doesn’t seem like mcvay was on board whatsoever. maybe he’ll address the clips, maybe he won’t, but we’re all seeing the same thing. that’s really concerning.
i really don’t understand the rams not taking someone at #13 who can contribute. i guess the bright side is if jimmy g retires, we maybe now have a new backup quarterback.
this has nothing to do with ty simpson and everything to do with positional value and going from “win now” mode to “we are planning for the future”… feels like a disservice to the team.
we will see. i’m rooting for ty!
English

@dddaaannniel @bkeister34 @thealexiskraft Maybe it won't but maybe it will. If Stafford only plays one more year then we will have to quickly figure out the next step. But having a rookie learning from the QB room for that year will be a good thing.
English

@UnholySpire @thealexiskraft Wasn't it a good decision though, to draft Love when they did? They let him sit and learn from the master, then they had a young QB playing on low salary so they could afford good roster. That's Snead's vision.
English

@thealexiskraft Probably how Rodgers felt when love got drafted. Win now window, needed a weapon etc
English

@jameshafizwilde @thealexiskraft No, not a wasted roster spot at all. Have some faith.
If you can't figure out what Snead is thinking that's your lack of vision, not his.
English

@thealexiskraft Best case scenario Stafford plays healthy for 2 more yrs. Conclusion? Wasted roster spot and draft capital for 2 yrs. Also: 4th rd pick spent on Bennett exposed as a waste. Now team has maybe 2 meaningful picks this year to add to a terrible 2025 draft. Better to F dem picks!
English

@thealexiskraft The Ram's priority is the future of the team. This pick was what great coaches and GM's do---It's called planning ahead. They can get more weapons for our MVP in round 2. Be patient.
English

@TheAlexV @thealexiskraft If you have no faith in Les or Sean, then go find a new team to root for. Have some faith and respect for them and how well they have done. They know better than you what this team needs right now. Get a grip.
English

@TheAlexV @thealexiskraft Yes, it was Sean's pick. No one is going to bring in a QB that Sean is not in favour of. Don't be ridiculous.
