Nearly the end of term, and it’s been incredibly busy with tight deadlines and a huge number of new regulations for this summer’s GCSEs and A levels. Alongside this, I continue my role as Bereavement Coordinator and run our charity charlottesbag.org Today, a young student came up to me in the canteen and innocently asked, “Are you the lady that speaks to dead people?” I gently explained that I don’t talk to the people students have lost, but I do help by talking with them about those they have lost - people and pets. He told me he had recently lost his dog, but now has a new one. He said he wished he could talk about the loss of his pet, so we agreed he will come and show me photos of his dog next week. I lost my daughter Charlotte, aged 19, on 24.02.2016 to a brain tumour. A month later, on 24.03.2016, I lost my aunt, and then on 29.03.2016, my mother. Three devastating bereavements in just under five weeks. Through this, I have been able to support others, because I truly understand what they are going through. BTW Before Charlotte passed she asked me to promise that I would talk to her everyday and I do. Some conversations never end.

Whilst at ⁦@srkitchengarden⁩ pop up shop yesterday I was lucky enough to see Sarah & get her to sign her new book which husband got me for my birthday early April! Lovely lady I’ve met her several times! Very down to earth! Can’t wait to read it!! 😊😊

I can’t believe I’m writing this 😢my beautiful mum passed away on Monday morning peacefully.She was in her own home with me at her side.She was 97 and had battled dementia and other medical issues. I am heartbroken 💔 Will be taking a small break from social media…….
