Here’s an oxymoron for you @sky customer service! Over an hour on their “chat” system and then they close without resolving it. Out of the country so can’t phone. Utterly useless!

@RobertMSterling My sister called pencils pentacksils, and spoons pingys so that stuck. Bemuses newcomers to the family no end. My son couldn’t pronounce hard c’s and k’s as a kid so he would ask for a blatfurrant drink. That’s stuck too. See also gubs for gloves but I think that’s universal.

The best random part about having small kids is how they mispronounce things and it’s so adorable that you not only don’t correct them, you start adopting it yourself. During Covid, our daughter couldn’t say “hand sanitizer” correctly. Three years later and we all still call it “hanzatizer.” When my son was two, he had a toy Elmo guitar that he called his “kintar.” My wife and I only stopped pronouncing it like that once he started real kintar lessons and we sounded dumb in front of the teacher. Our toddler is two and she calls her backpack a “pack pack.” Now the other kids talk about getting their pack packs ready for school every day. We’re having pasghetti for dinner tonight. It probably sounds stupid, but it’s little things like this that make parenthood—despite all the challenges—an irreplaceable joy.

@JohnTerrysDog @Heritagecricket I believe the course was started to be laid out then abandoned when planning permission for the clubhouse wasn’t granted.

@Heritagecricket Was there ever a course there before? You look on sat map and it weirdly looks layout of old abandoned course.

It's barely got above zero for the last week in St Andrews but this weekend it's predicted to be double digits... might be my last chance for a game in 2024, have to take it!

@ambergambler_ Done mine for years. Occasionally I’ve gone to the hairdressers to get it done and regretted it. They never get right to the roots so you immediately look like you need it done again.

In episode 3343 of how I no longer have any patience or tolerance for other people’s nonsense/life snags in general, tonight I have DYED MY OWN HAIR with a 9 quid box dye. Looks alright to be fair 🤷🏼‍♀️

Scottsdale trip just booked for April! Only will be playing 2 rounds. Played Troon North Monument and Dove Valley Ranch last year. Need recommendations for these 2 categories for this April. 1) High End course 2) Medium course / Underrated Any help would be appreciated!

@LPaulson7 @zheinold1014 I have so many photos from that course. Especially from the holes that are no longer there. The views were great. Had my first eagle on one of them (just after hitting my longest ever drive).

@zheinold1014 @katestas Phoenician is definitely a fun course. Back nine… I believe 10-13 right at the foot of camelback is a great view down into the city from there as well.

@zheinold1014 We stay right by the Phoenician when in town too. Used to live at wickenburg ranch so slightly biased about it. Myself and husband were first club champs (slight smug face).

@katestas We are staying right next to Phoenician so that would be nice. I would assume nothing is great condition in June

@RevRichardColes @BootsUK Keep an eye out for shelf prices that change when you get to the tills cos they haven’t removed the “special offer” tickets. If you challenge it, the staff will reduce to the sale price and blame lack of staff for them not being up to date.

@royhdennis About 5 plums on our tree here in NE Fife, Scotland. All bruised and rotting before ripe. Masses of apples though. Polar opposite of last year.

There are three types of golfer: The Dew Sweepers: Get up before the sun, play 18 holes before the hippies even wake up. The mid day sloggers: Sleep in, don’t mind 5 hour rounds. The Light Chasers: Tee off twilight, usually finishing in darkness. Which one are you?

@ambergambler_ It’s a great game. Tests your patience and messes with your mind but when you hit a great shot; it makes it worth it. I play 4-5 times a week. Started 14 years ago. I love being out in nature and having a chat with people I may never have met otherwise.
