❗Remember❗ When a brand lacks relevance and authenticity, consumers disengage (according to 2023 @EdelmanDigital Trust Barometer).
In 2019 I shared a script we were developing using IBM Watson that measured backlink relevance at a large UK search conference.
At @brightonseo in 2021 I announced @JourneyFurther had officially launched our proprietary tool, Salient, that could measure topical relevance and sentiment. One of the proudest moments of my career.
Now in 2024 Salient does so much more than just look at topical link relevance and sentiment. It monitors trends in real time, it makes future predictions, it enables our clients to actually BE relevant.
Several people have mentioned to me that other agencies have started to develop link relevance measurement tools.
"It’s about time 👏 !" Has been my response. I am genuinely glad the industry is catching on - let’s stop measuring vanity metrics like link volume that can be utterly meaningless, and start focusing on the things that actually drive organic growth 🚀.
But let’s not forget - that R.E.L.E.V.A.N.C.E is not just about how many keywords are in a piece of coverage. Relevance is about creating content that is meaningful to your audience, that sits within publications that they read and is relevant to what your brand stands for...
