I just hope that someday, we get to live in a country that is kinder to its people, where basic needs are not treated as privileges, where hard work is rewarded, and where no one has to suffer just to survive. The Filipino people deserve so much more than this.

Isn't it quite cathartic na yung conspiracy nila Alan Peter, Bato, at Robin, is unravelling because of the fearless and honest reporting of Victoria Tulad and Zyann Ambrosio.

‘HOW DID WE REACH THIS LOW LEVEL OF PUBLIC SERVICE?’ Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas decried the recent political developments, including the Senate leadership change on Monday, in a pastoral letter released Thursday. “It is confusing. It is unbelievable. It is pathetic. It is disgusting. It is shameless. How did we reach this low level of public service?” Villegas wrote. He also urged the faithful to pray and actively seek political change, and to vote more wisely in the next elections. Live updates: philstar.com/headlines/2026…

‘ALL THIS FOR A MAN WHO SIMPLY DOESN’T WANT TO FACE THE LAW’ Sen. Risa Hontiveros pushed back against attempts to link minority senators to the Senate incident, saying the narrative being spread is politically motivated. “There is only one reason some bad faith actors are trying very hard to make this controversial event about me and other Minority senators and the times we went home. All this for a man who simply doesn’t want to face the law. That’s it. That’s the whole story,” she said. Hontiveros stressed that Senate employees had already gone home and that she was in the province for a scheduled engagement, rejecting what she described as politicization of routine movements. She also called for accountability and urged Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa to cooperate with authorities, saying the public deserves a full, independent and transparent accounting of the incident. Someone has to be made accountable for Bato’s escape. No less than the DILG Secretary and PNP Chief entered the senate building last night to secure the senators. The public was assured last night Bato was in the “5th foor, in his room, resting”. Bato’s lawyer showed a video last night of Bato supposedly in the senate. The senate building should’ve been secured last night - no one in, no one out. We need answers. How did Bato escape? Who helped him?

All this chaos. Just to protect the Dutertes and their allies. The country has sacrificed too much—our institutions, our democracy, and far too many lives—for the survival of people who believe they are above accountability.

Gunshots inside the Senate and innocent civilians, media personnel, and staff could have been caught in the middle of it all. Kung peacefully na lang sana sumuko si Bato, this situation could have been avoided. Grabeng kaguluhan ang dinala mo, Bato.
