There comes a point in life when you realize you've been trying to be reasonable in situations that were slowly undoing you. You explained yourself too many times. You stayed because you didn't want to seem difficult. You waited because you believed patience would be rewarded. And then one day, something small happens, nothing dramatic, and you understand that staying has started to cost you your sense of self. Walking away doesn't feel victorious. It feels heavy. But it also feels honest. And sometimes, honesty is the only way forward.
