@taylorfarmwife this month we’re paying ~24% more to have our American bred, born and raised beef processed that we only sell locally
they are born on our property and processed at local processor and sold locally
the thing everyone says they want
but HEB beef is cheaper, so for long????

and there you have it got the email I expected our processor is raising prices across the board and adding additional fees not b/c they’re slow, they’re booked out, and I suspect with drought they aren’t slowing b/c they’re about to pay 📈 on packaging/labels/equipment

especially when the American consumer base is accustomed to “pay less” they will buy the cheaper item
it’s why companies moved offshore to begin with - profit margins because the consumer wants it cheaper

a whole lot of “we have to make the cuts even if people lose jobs and it seems harsh because we have to bring down the deficit” are real quiet on this

@musharbash_b there’s some wild loose labeling going on here, that or a slight of hands thing… even through fermentation, to get true whey protein they started with a WPC/lactose… which come from cows

They mixed whey protein powder with some sunflower oil and sugar, smoothed it all out with a bunch of bonding and stabilizing agents, threw in some flavor and vitamin additives for good measure –– and called what they made "milk."
