@kaucasity @koalakitch @supremecornball no, no, no they're all just waiting to have their one-on-one appointments with their elected officials where they will express their displeasure and see the matter resolved
English

People outside the US like to do this thing where they call us uneducated but don’t realize they know very little of substance about living in the United States.
It is largely unwalkable. We’re trying to help you by telling you this, but you’re being condescending 😭
jade@WifexOfxAgony
You know what? Let them try.
English

@sophiaiiiii @koalakitch @supremecornball They are being disingenuous cause if it was just as simple as writing a letter the uk wouldn’t be running out of fuel and still somehow sending money to Israel
English

@koalakitch @kaucasity @supremecornball you write them a letter and they get on it right away? just because they rep you? why in the world is the nhs still getting cuts?
English

@koalakitch @sophiaiiiii @supremecornball Yes because people have just been sending lollipops to their representatives and telling them to keep ficking them with smog
English

@sophiaiiiii @kaucasity @supremecornball You write to your representatives, you make a petition, you make an appointment to speak to them etc etc. I'm sure you have equivalents
English

@kaucasity @oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY no, we dont see sex as sacred.
English

notice how I’ve never once denied sex work is exploitative and coercive thanks to the nature of capitalistic relations, rather I drew a bridge between sex work and care work which radfems are incapable of grasping because their issue with sex work is that it’s improper
//Ω:•ↃLↃ@briuhtyl
@LIBRAL0GY What do we call coercive sex … think really hard
English

@koalakitch @sophiaiiiii @supremecornball It simply won’t, firstly the uk is small asf things do not work the same. Secondly aren’t workers on strike everyday demanding better wages and it’s not being met? Or anti Israel protests? Nothing Tbh neither your government or the us’s cares about the people.
English

@sophiaiiiii @kaucasity @supremecornball Tbh I think this would be sorted fairly quickly over here if we got onto our councillors/MPs and enough people showed they cared about it.
English

@professlou @midaeros Ok dude, you don’t live here and you clearly do not know bye
English

No one is defending it at all, just calling it ill-advised.
Also if you put it into maps, it's a 14 mile walk (22 kilometers). Why would anyone try to walk that far before a sporting event and then WALK BACK???
анаель@swvvnn
americans defending their shitty infrastructure like their lives depend on it
English

@professlou @midaeros That was the case years ago but the generations ie millennials and Gen Z want walkable cities. It’s literally almost a 50 50 split between the generations. It’s also bipartisan politically, republicans like cars and everyone else does not. So realistically we are both right
English

@kaucasity @midaeros Sorry, but that's incorrect. Most Americans love their cars, roads and highways and they'll defend it until they die. True, there are some places that are walkable and have good transit but car owners hate other forms of transit
English

@koalakitch @supremecornball Again you think people don’t? You aren’t aware of movements within this country so why assume people don’t? People now didn’t build the current infrastructure and to change it often times would require so much diversions that often create more issues. Unfortunately
English

@kaucasity @supremecornball I dunno. If it was my country I'd be pretty outraged I couldn't walk where I wanted / needed to and I'd get onto my representatives to get it sorted
English

@professlou @midaeros Literally not true, most Americans talk about how continent New York and major cities are for being walkable with public transit. Most people do not defend the infrastructure it’s literally a point of contention often
English

@midaeros Oh, Americans definitely DO defend their shitty infrastructure. Especially those with cars.
English

@supremecornball It’s a genuine question so please don’t hurt me … why are us cities so unwalkable? I’d like to know.
English

@koalakitch @supremecornball Yes the people chose unwalkable cities? Are you guys dense
English

@Bob16747466 @oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY I said sex not consent tf? You see sex as scared and not a bodily function
English

@kaucasity @oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY we view consent as sthg that should be respected, yet you called it "sacred" in our eyes, thats conflation respect with sacred.
English

@Bob16747466 @oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY Where did I say consent shouldn’t be respected?
English

@kaucasity @oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY consent should be respected, its respect, not being sacred
English

@oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY I don’t think anyone here is denying that sw is exploitative the argument is what makes it more exploitative than other forms of womanly labour that literally break the body? The difference is how you view sex
English

@oneandonlyjeeb1 @ParanoidPanda @justabiteospite @LIBRAL0GY Yall are arguing because you fundamentally see sex differently. You do see sex as scared because if you didn’t you’d get it. Someone cleaning for 12 hours a day breaking their back making an unlivable wage is less exploited to you than a sw who chooses her hours and makes more?
English

@kaucasity @Dayglowpickle U can "it's just a cartoon" all u want but the truth is atla spread specific messages about real life events for a reason. There's themes & values & there's literally no point in watching atla in the first place if you're just gonna ignore it for a ship that makes no sense
English

@michaelinioluwa Yes? When you amass that level of wealth it is never ethical many people are getting exploited
English

@kaucasity So by this logic, any author, actor, or movie worker who made money from a hit book/film has 'unethical wealth'?
Voluntary deals + audience demand does not equal exploitation. Most creative successes would be tainted then. This doesn't track.
English

Aside from the fact that jk Rowling books has hella racist tropes; they didn’t publish or distribute their work alone. These publishing houses thrive on the exploitation of others and let’s not even get into the movie industry that truly made the billions
Oríadé@michaelinioluwa
When people say, no billionaire has “ethical wealth”? What exactly do they mean? JK Rowling became a billionaire from writing books. George Lucas made his money from creating Star Wars. How is any of these unethical?
