Planting even 2x / 3x the nr of saplings in the Aravalis will NOT compensate for loss of old growth rainforest (& all the #biodiversity that goes with it) in a humid tropical zone. And those saplings, if they survive, will take decades to become a "forest." Pretty elementary.

The limited point I was making: This is an odd way to put out trends. We still don’t know what’s happening in 100+ seats.
This is a very close contest. The initial trends showed a 10-point gap between the vote shares of BJP and TMC. Now that gap is under 3.

Interesting that initial trends are from far-off North Bengal (where BJP always does well) and Jangalmahal (where BJP is expected to do well), but not Kolkata and its adjacent districts (Trinamool strongholds). One would think info comes in faster from more urban areas... 🤷♂️

A bench led by CJI Surya Kant will consider the matter today. Last week, @Article14live had reported about the orders passed by Odisha Courts directing Dalit & Adivasi persons, accused in cases over anti-mining protests, to clean police stations as a bail condition.

It is typically the case that vote shares will converge before seats in counting. And while there can certainly be complicated conversions...the vote share differences give us an indication of what the total tally might be.

Don’t know Akal Takht Sahib’s reasoning but agree with them. Harsh punitive laws, as seen in Pakistan, get misused out of personal or political vengeance. Sikhism needs wise leadership to protect it, not political populism of some not even observing 5 Ks/injunctions.

Big Breaking : Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan has been asked to appear before Sri Akal Takht Sahib on May 8 regarding the Sri Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege amendment bill. He stated the bill was introduced without the consent of the Panth, and the Panth will not accept this law.
