In short, I found help, and through accepting that help, I found that I still belong somewhere, and that I have carved out a little corner of my own in the world with said cat, people and colleagues.

But, I had my partner, a few very supportive friends, a very capable therapist, and I had a cat. Then I landed in Freshworks. And moved to Kodaikanal and met the Golden Teachers :-) This last one year has been a slow but gradual healing thanks to all of them.

Today marks an important personal milestone for me. I will be presenting live to an audience of developers for the first time since October 2019 and I feel comfortable with my preparations.

This is at 2190m. Very close to reserved forests. This human led destruction of natural habitats and excessive pollution will continue as long as electoral politics and religious sentiments will be prioritised over the biosphere.

All the peace and quiet, gone. Air smells of explosives. Air quality has tanked in a day. All animals and birds are terrified. My nerves are fried as such and the show has just begun. Is this what you call celebration?

Aren’t there any restrictions on bursting firecrackers so close to forests in places like Kodaikanal? There were very loud crackers, shrieking rockets and chain-bombs bursting all evening till about 11pm last night. It’s started again from 6:30am this morning.

It's cold and wet. But, also, cozy and beautiful.

The upper ranges of the Palani Hills have been consistently covered with dense rain clouds for the past few days. That's different from saying, "it has been raining." These clouds enter through any gap in the doors, windows, or walls, and make things wet in 3 dimensions.
