Hindi pa ako nakaranas ng ganyang level of lawlessness sa loob ng isang tinuturing na kagalang-galang at ligtas na institusyon ng Pilipinas. Gusto kong magpatuloy na magtrabaho at magsukli sa araw-araw na sakripisyo ng sambayanang Pilipino, at i-deliver ang hinihingi nila sa lahat nating lingkod-bayan: competent, patas, at efficient na serbisyo publiko. Gusto kong bumalik ang Senado sa mga tungkulin nito.
May mga kumakalat na sabi-sabi na na-warningan daw kaming nasa minority na magkakagulo. Hindi totoo ‘yun. Umalis ako nang maaga sa Senado dahil may meeting ako sa labas.

As the House of Representatives vote today on the second impeachment against VP Sara Duterte, more than a million Filipinos (and still counting!) affirm its support to the constitutional process to seek accountability and truth. Impeachment is a constitutional mechanism designed precisely for moments when serious allegations are raised against high public officials, particularly allegations involving culpable violation of the Constitution, misuse of public funds, abuse of authority, and betrayal of public trust. The grounds presented against VP Sara Duterte are sufficient to warrant the continuation of impeachment proceedings and the convening of a full impeachment trial in the Senate. We call on our public officials, especially members of the House and Senate, to rise above partisan considerations and fulfill their constitutional responsibilities with courage, independence, and fidelity to the Constitution.
